I am honestly sick of you people. If Anguilla was as bad as the TCI the British would have stepped in a long time ago. Why don't you all call in to the radio programmes and stop hiding behind a computer screen.

From a Hardworking Civil ServantAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37949944.post-26456100303644541592010-10-11T16:33:09.648-04:002010-10-11T16:33:09.648-04:00The CM is engaging in the Nixon-shift and reporter...The CM is engaging in the Nixon-shift and reporters ought to have the courage to call him on it and hold him to task.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37949944.post-87922012349790082582010-10-11T10:39:02.883-04:002010-10-11T10:39:02.883-04:00Part of the responsibility for this mess we’re in ...Part of the responsibility for this mess we’re in rest squarely on the shoulders of the local media. We don’t have a CM’s press conference – we have a political speech by the CM where any questions asked are brushed aside or ignored. Case in point – at the 23 July press conference (http://www.anguillian.com/article/articleview/8615/1/140/), the CM was asked about his/ministers pay rate and reductions, and he responded: “I don’t know because, to tell you the truth, I had never gone into politics for pay.” Pressed further, he responded: ”I don’t need it, so I don’t check it. I give it away – most of it – everyday.” No follow-up or “Can you find out and get back to us?” I even asked one of the reporters to ask that question at a future conference – we still have no answer. If the media (and in turn the public) are not allowed to get answers to questions asked, they should refuse to attend the conference. Just have the CM submit a hard copy for reproduction and save the time of the reporters.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37949944.post-55142161913672480112010-10-10T15:57:41.743-04:002010-10-10T15:57:41.743-04:00The above poster who refuses to pay for the public...The above poster who refuses to pay for the public sector echoes the words of pre-election straw-into-gold Hubert, who said he wasn't paying his property tax because the AUF would just waste it on their bloated civil service and special assistants.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37949944.post-41729149819586219112010-10-10T12:37:27.446-04:002010-10-10T12:37:27.446-04:00Anguilla is still on steroids. Either that or mar...Anguilla is still on steroids. Either that or marijuana. The public sector in a liberal democracy exists for one purpose only. To serve the private sector. If the private sector collapses, as it has, the public sector must be collapsed as well. There is no way a reduced private sector can afford to subsidise a bloated public sector. Only in the Stalinist period was this economic fact of life not recognised. Yet, our leaders continue to parrot the nonsense that to reduce our the size of our public sector is not an option. Those civil servants that are illiterate, rude, and non-productive must be pruned. That is at least fifty percent of the public service. I refuse to pay for them anymore.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37949944.post-91899719072955414752010-10-09T19:51:04.157-04:002010-10-09T19:51:04.157-04:00Hi Don, I think you should read London Grad by Mar...Hi Don, I think you should read London Grad by Mark Hollingsworth and Stewart Lansley.
